It is a rich moisturizer, it is versatile, it is antifungal, antibacterial, cheap…the list could go on and on. Truth is, coconut oil comes with a wide range of benefits. But there are one or two things you probably don’t know about coconut oil yet. With coconut oil, you can:
Cook at high heat
If you love cooking, then you know for a fact that some cooking oils are not safe at high temperatures. Not so with coconut oil. You can use it for roasting and some frying with the peace of mind that your kitchen won’t catch fire. The oil is good in the oven for sweet potatoes, carrots, asparagus, red onion and a number of vegetables. It is however not ideal for eggs and fish apart from salmon.
Use it as a cheekbone highlighter
Sounds weird but its works. Sweep a little on top of your make up and apply on your skin. It is a trick most cosmetologists recommend. What’s more, come celebrities have confessed it worked and still works for them. You can also used it to take off your eye makeup. Simply soak a cotton ball and wipe it gently over your eyes.
Shave your legs
This applies to women only. With the oil, you can get a real close shave. You won’t even have to worry about moisturizing. As hinted already, the oil is a natural moisturizer. Simply shave, wipe your legs and wash them.
To bake
It is a staple. What’s more, it tastes really good. In fact, it is the only thing that can mask the chalky taste that is synonymous with gluten free baking. It therefore goes without saying that the oil is more than just ideal for baby cakes. Then when all is said and done, remember that coconut oil is not an exception to eco friendly used cooking oil disposal.
