It is common for printers to develop glitches from time to time. Sometimes the glitches are underlying and can hardly be detected on time. This is hardly the case with the latest printers as they come with diode lights which stay on to indicate that they function properly. You can therefore detect glitches and other technical problems as soon as the light blinks or goes off. That being said, here is a list of common printer problems and how you can solve them.
No power to printer
It is one of the most common printer problems. Fortunately, it is also one of the easiest problems to fix. If you cannot see the power light on, simply check your power connections. There are two main cords that run from the printer, one to your PC and the other to the power source. Turn off the computer, remove the cords then reconnect them. If the problem persists, check your computer drivers or contact a technician.
Printer ‘swallows’ all papers
This happens when one gives a print command and the printer instead takes in a chunk of papers. This glitch occurs when the printing papers are in the tray stick to each other. You only need to separate the papers by fanning their edges before feeding them into the printer. Alternatively, you can store the papers in a cool dry place before feeding them to your printer again.
Paper jam error
It mostly happens when the printer is connected to a network of computers. Again, this is one of the easiest glitches to fix. All you need to do is to restart the printer. This will reject the jammed printing papers and allow you to print with ease. If you printer is advanced, simply look for the ‘eject’ button.
Poor print quality
Smudgy prints, white lining on the paper, and ineligible words are all signs of poor print quality. The problem could be with the cartridge. Simply refill the cartridge. Then ensure that the cartridges you have are of high quality.
