The notification for SBI PO recruitment was released by the conducting body, the State Bank of India (SBI). This exam is popular among job aspirants as the pay is good and the allowances are generous.  Aspirants who plan to take this exam must go through the SBI PO question paper to familiarize themselves with what to expect at the prelims and final exams.

The Best Strategy

The best strategy that aspirants can follow is to prepare according to the previous year’s question paper, which will help them take this challenging exam.

The questions are very demanding and of a very high level; hence going through the last year’s paper is a great help. Before attempting the exam this year, it makes sense to familiarize yourself as it helps you understand each question’s difficulty level.

The SBI PO Prelims Question Paper Pattern

The SBI PO prelim exam is the first step aspirants need to become a probationary officer in SBI. The prelims are an online test comprising objective questions with 100 marks being awarded if all questions are answered correctly. Candidates have one hour to complete all 100 questions. The SBI PO question paper comprises three sections, the English language, Quantitative aptitude, and the Reasoning ability sections.

While the Quantitative section and Reasoning Ability section have 35 questions each, the English language section has 30 questions, with each question carrying one mark. Incorrect answers can attract a penalty of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. However, there are no negative marks for unattempted questions.

Order of Attempt

Most aspirants would be busy preparing hard for the preliminaries. As part of the preparations, one should practice time management, which will come in handy while taking the exam. You must answer each section within the time allotted, and selecting the order is essential.

●       Practicing and attempting mock tests will give you a fair idea of whether you’ll be able to answer all the 100 questions in the given time framework.

●       The scrutiny of the questions will tell you which you can attempt and the ones you must skip to save time and avoid penalty marks.

●       The primary motive is to get through the preliminary exam, making you eligible to attempt the finals.

The Advantages of Practicing SBI Question Papers

Aspirants who have already attempted this question paper are of the unanimous opinion that a practice strategy worked in their favour. They attribute repeated practice sessions and trying mock tests to their success. Hence, following this strategy is a sure-shot way to succeed in the exams.

The preliminary examination is your first step, and getting through is essential for being eligible to take the finals. Here are the advantages in a nutshell:

✔      Practicing the previous year’s SBI PO question paper gives you enough confidence to attempt the preliminary exam. As 60 minutes is the time framework, speed, and accuracy are of the essence.

✔      Selecting the questions that appear easy help avoid negative marking and brighten chances to qualify.

✔      To attain accuracy within the given time framework, practice is the only strategy that helps. Time management is crucial as it enables you to attempt the maximum number of questions within the allowed time.

The Syllabus

Practicing the previous year’s question paper and doing mock tests will be very helpful. Moreover, there is no major change in the syllabus; hence the exam won’t have any surprises or setbacks. However, there is always some change in the topics, which are never repeated. Also, while the preliminary test features the Quantitative aptitude test, the mains may have a Data Interpretation and analysis test instead.

Summing it Up

The dictum “practice makes one perfect” is very accurate in the preliminary and final exams for the SBI PO questions. It is repeated practice and attempting mock tests that help aspirants face the final exams confidently.
